We're delighted that you're interested in attending the 2012 OELMA Conference, School Libraries 4 the Future, October 17, 18, and 19. This year's conference is at Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Sandusky, Ohio. Your Convention safari begins with the OELMA pre-conference on Wednesday, October 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. and features internationally renowned Kathy Schrock and QuirkyBookGirl Winnie Milner. Thursday, look forward to Kathy Schrock and Reimagine-Ed Co-founder, Laura Deisley as keynotes and Newbery Honor author, Susan Campbell Baroletti. Visit the exhibitors and stop at the Conference Bookstore to purchase books for your favorite authors to sign. Author Palozza, from 6 to 6:45 will give you an opportunity to meet authors Lauren Oliver, Keiko Kasza, Nic Bishop, Susan Campell Bartoletti, and Tim Green. Stay for the delicious dinner and listen to Tim Green, author and former Atlanta Falcons defensive player. Enjoy the activities of the waterpark, take a stroll around the beautiful grounds or relax in one of the many restaurants. On Friday, hear author Lauren Oliver - her newest book Pandemonium is a real page turner! Keiko Kasza, Nic Bishop and Tim Green will offer fun sessions for all.

Call for Presentations now open.

An important component of an organization’s conference is the ability to provide opportunities to view, meet with, and learn about a variety of educational initiatives, products, and services. The 2012 OELMA Conference has been planned around the ‘School Libraries4theFuture’ theme which includes two special Pre-Conference sessions: 1) InfoGraphics as a Creative Assessment by Kathy Schrock, and 2) Using 21st Century Tools and Ideas to Make You Indispensable, by Winnie Milner.

Be a part of ‘School Libraries4theFuture’ and help us demonstrate innovative services for Ohio’s school libraries by giving a presentation based upon your expertise and enthusiasm. Your participation is an instrumental factor in redefining and promoting our profession. Through effective advocacy, innovative learning, and successful networking, the library profession and our organization can continue to grow.
