The Awards Committee is in its 3rd week of promoting OELMA Awards. Let’s recap what receiving an OELMA award means to some of our most recent award recipients:
“Receiving the OELMA Emerging Leader Award has been a meaningful milestone in my professional journey. It has elevated my visibility within the school library community and opened doors to new collaborations, leadership opportunities, and professional networks.”Angela Husband, Emerging Leaders Award
“We work to give our kids the best education they can receive. We volunteer to ensure our profession continues to be effective, well respected and one that attracts new members. Receiving the Outstanding Contributor Award is that little bit of reinforcement that I am doing the right thing for our kids and profession. Being recognized by my peers for the work that I have done has been a great honor.” Karen Gedeon, Outstanding Contributor Award
‘It was such an honor to receive this award. The recognition allowed me an opportunity to invite my administrators to a speech about the important role of school libraries and served as a launchpad for a chance to present about innovation in the Media Center to our local school board. It was a wonderful and positive experience and a chance to advocate for our many programs and services and a chance to connect with other amazing librarians across the state. Thanks OELMA for the recognition and the platform!” Grace Hammond, Follett School Solutions Outstanding School Librarian Award
“Garner additional recognition and support for our program. In turn, the support has helped us to evolve and create a even more dynamic learning opportunity for our students, which is always the goal.” Kristen Roope, Ross J. Todd Collaborative School Library Award
“Bolstered my confidence to take on new challenges.” Brandi Young, Leadership-in-Action Award
“Reinforced the power of libraries as spaces for connection, creativity, and growth.” Angie Jameson, Follett School Solutions Outstanding School Librarian Award
