OELMA/Follett School Solutions Outstanding School Librarian Award |
The OELMA/Follett School Solutions Outstanding School Librarian Award recognizes a licensed Ohio school library media specialist who has developed an exemplary school library program. The school library media specialist must incorporate through their daily practice Ohio’s Library Guidelines for Librarians (2021) strands: equity, literacies, partnerships, and quality schools. Follett School Solutions, Inc. sponsors this award by providing $150 in Follett resources and OELMA provides a commemorative plaque to the recipient during the OELMA annual conference. The recipient’s name will be announced through the OELMA listserv, website and social media. |
The OELMA/Follett School Solutions Outstanding School Librarian Award recipient will be selected from applicants and nominees who meet the following criteria:
OELMA member for the previous three years
Licensed Ohio school library media specialist who has developed an exemplary school library program
Incorporates through their daily practice Ohio’s Library Guidelines for Librarians (2021) strands: equity, literacies, partnerships, and quality schools
Meets the minimum requirements on the OELMA/Follett School Solutions Outstanding School Librarian Award Checklist
Nominator:
Complete and upload the OELMA Awards Nominator Form Part A which requires a 250-word rationale for the nomination that speaks to the OELMA/Follett School Solutions Outstanding School Librarian Award Checklist.
Contact the nominee and inform them to complete and upload the OELMA Awards Nominee Form Part B by the deadline.
Nominee:
Complete and upload the OELMA Awards Nominee Form Part B which requires a 500-word statement that speaks to the criteria outlined in the OELMA/Follett School Solutions Outstanding School Librarian Award Checklist.
Upload a photograph of the nominee (jpg or gif format).
Upload resume.
Additional documents such as video and/or letter(s) of recommendation from colleague(s) and/or supervisors that explain how the nominee meets the criteria outlined in the OELMA/Follett School Solutions Outstanding School Librarian Award Checklist are encouraged.
If you are self-nominating, complete and upload the OELMA Awards Nominee Form Part B and upload a photograph of the nominee (jpg or gif format) and resume. Additional documents described above are encouraged.
