General Information:

-A one-semester-hour course through Kent State University is available for conference attendees who complete the requirements outlined in the syllabus.  

You can let us know you are interested in graduate credit when completing the OELMA conference registration form online. You can also click on the links below for more information. 

-Cost for the course is $165.

Participants may select from several assignment options designed to turn conference learning into professional practice, including:

• Conference-to-Practice Implementation Plan – Use an idea from a conference session to design a practical plan for implementation in your library or learning environment.
• Presentation Reflection & Synthesis – Reflect on selected conference sessions, key takeaways, new thinking, and implications for professional practice.
• Learner-Centered Program or Instruction Design – Develop a program, lesson, or learning experience inspired by the conference and designed to serve learners across ages, abilities, or needs.
• Technology & AI Application Plan – Explore a technology or AI-related idea from the conference and develop a thoughtful plan for its effective and responsible use.
• Library Management & Programming Improvement Project – Apply conference learning to strengthen an aspect of library management, services, programming, or the library environment.
• 50 Years Forward: Advocacy & Leadership Project – In recognition of OELMA’s 50th anniversary, connect lessons from the profession’s past with an advocacy or leadership initiative that helps envision the future of school libraries.

Participants may also propose an alternative project that connects conference learning to their own professional goals.

Assignments are designed to be practical and useful—something you can take back to your library, school, or community rather than simply completing an assignment for credit.
